LETTERS FROM OUR PATIENTS
![]() To the Hope4Cancer Team, I was diagnosed with invasive muscular bladder cancer. My doctors recommended removal of my bladder and/or chemotherapy and radiation. The surgery would take 8-10 hours and I would be in the hospital 7-10 days. I am 82 years old, and while I am still very active, this seemed overwhelming. My wife began researching possible alternatives to such drastic treatment options. She found the Hope4Cancer website. Dr. Tony Jimenez offered a wide variety of treatment options from around the world. We found no other clinics that had this much to offer. We decided that the Hope4Cancer's programs were ones that should strengthen my immune system and prepare me for whatever I had to deal with in the future. Two weeks later we made the trip to Baja. During my visit there were patients from Australia, Greece, England and the US. Typically the patients come to the clinic as a last-resort, after their doctors have nothing left to offer. Often they have been sent home to "get their affairs in order". I wanted to try this program before we did any of the more drastic "traditional" recommendations. Hope4Cancer also has a strong "after care" program. I followed the recommendations as closely as possible once I returned home. While it is time consuming, but so were the alternatives: chemo, radiation and surgery! In July, 2011, I scheduled a follow-up exam at one of the leading cancer centers in the US. I had many tests along with another cyscoscopy and biopsy. After the surgery the doctor told my wife that he did not "see" any cancer in the bladder. He also said that he found the scar from the prior biopsy and he took his sample for the biopsy from the same site. I would know the results of that in a few days. When my first cyscospy was performed, and the tumor was removed, the doctor that performed the surgery told me that he knew that he had not been able to get all of the cancer, however he was afraid to go any deeper for fear of going through the walls of my bladder. I knew that there had been "visible" cancer after the tumor was removed in March, 2011. When the second cyscoscopy was performed in July, 2011, and the doctor did not "see" any signs of active cancer, I knew that the treatments from Hope4Cancer had to be improving my condition! One week later the doctor told me that the biopsy showed no signs of active cancer at this time! The only program that I had followed was under the direction of Dr. Tony Jimenez at the Hope4Cancer. Need-less-to-say this has been a blessing indeed! I will continue the "at home" program, and trust that Dr. Tony will be involved in my maintenance health care regime indefinitely. Dr. Mark., |
![]() Dear Marla This email is long overdue. Scott is very eager to start treatment and we are both filled with hope and prayers that Dr. Tony can do for Scott that which he has done for so many others. Everything we have heard….beyond our daughter’s visit…beyond the testimonials of people who have either written on your site or that we’ve been fortunate enough to speak with…beyond the stories we’ve heard from strangers we’ve spoken with who had heard of Hope4Cancer and shared the positive stories they knew of…beyond all of that…there was you! You were patient. You were kind. You answered our questions (over and over and over again) and you calmed our fears with compassion, understanding and support. Like the teacher who tells his class….”There are no stupid questions”…you responded each time as though it was the first time you’d heard the question…giving us the faith and the hope we needed to continue in the direction we totally believe is the right one. As you know, this is not an easy journey. Neither Scott nor I expected to ever he here. But your help and guidance has made it much easier than we ever thought possible so, on behalf of both of us, I would like to thank you for all the time, effort and support you have given us. May God Bless, Sherri C., |
![]() Dear Marla, I continue to have the highest regard for every aspect of this place (Functional Oncology). When I arrived my neutrophil levels had gone down dangerously low, but thanks to the brilliant, caring, cooperative group of doctors down here they pulled me through! My neutrophil levels have gone up dramatically. The hospital – including all the doctors, nurses, pulmonary therapists are all there for me 100%. There are no marginal, alienated or competitive workers here. One gets the feeling that they really care about you and truly want you to be well. Even the chef is a precious person - he personally comes to my room to see what kind of non-hospital food I would like every day. He makes things like millet, quinoa, organic chicken and specially flown in fish. He used to be the chef for Circ de Soleil, so you can imagine how much fun he is. Everything here is organic and gluten free. Dr. Perez and Dr. Garcia stop by every day, often twice in one day. This place is more like a spa/hotel that a typical hospital. There are lots of other doctors that have interfaced with me, including hematologist. In any case, rest assured that the place you referred me to far exceeded my expectations so far. Thanks for all your help. Dr. Lynda C. |

Hi Marla, Diane G., breast cancer survivorThank you so much for all your guidance. Diane and I both felt so at home and at ease the minute we walked into Hope4Cancer Institute. The staff was warm and caring, and after we filled out our paperwork, we had some time to get settled in our ocean front room. The entire medical staff was very professional, and we really appreciated how they took the time to explain each treatment to us. It was such a relief for Diane to not suffer all the side effects she experienced when she did chemo. She started feeling better by the third day, she had more color and her appetite improved too. The two weeks just flew by. Before we left, the doctors repeated her initial tests and labs, and all of her markers had improved. We just finished the two month home program, and are happy to report that Diane’s latest scan was totally clean. Your knowledge and help were invaluable. Again, we appreciate all you did for us. Jim B., Lymphoma survivorDear Ms. Manhart, Today is the 3rd anniversary of our visit to Stella Maris. We think of you every year on this date, as we know your help lead us to the right place. To look at Jim today, you would never know that he had been so sick. After 6 months of chemotherapy, he looked like a skeleton. Dr. Alvarez gave him several different IVs, a vaccine, hyperthermia and IPT, and he felt great during all the treatments. The doctor was so knowledgeable and spent time with us every day. We stayed in a beautiful hotel just across the street from the clinic. We made some great friends and even met another couple from Michigan there. Jim continues to have periodic tests here at home, and we always send the results to Dr. Alvarez. Jim is back at work full time, and we feel so very blessed. We just wanted to let you know that every March 3rd, we say a special prayer for you and for everyone at the Stella Maris clinic. Marianne and Jim B., Detroit, MI |

Hi Marla, Tanya M., colon cancer survivorThank you so much for referring us to Dr. Garcia at BioScience! What a beautiful place it is – sleek and modern, all glass and marble. Yet the staff was so warm. We were surprised that the doctors did all the treatments themselves. We probably saw our doctors for 4 or 5 hours a day. It was comforting to know that although we went for holistic treatment, there was a full conventional hospital around us that could handle any emergency. When I was first diagnosed with colon cancer, I felt so scared I was almost immobile. You were so calm and confident I could find help, and you walked me through all the necessary steps to get me right in for treatment. I was determined that I would be healed without getting a colostomy, and after micro-chemo and all my natural treatments, I knew I could do it! And by the way, you should be sure to tell patients about the wonderful organic food there! It’s been a year and a half, and I have returned once to BioScience for testing and a check up, and I am doing terrific. The tumor has shrunk from the size of a plum to the size of a grape. I continue to follow the doctor’s advice and am taking supplements and enzymes. I just appreciate so much all the help and support. Sincerely, Tanya M., Huntsville, AL |
Roger M, bladder cancer survivor with new granddaughterMarla, Can you believe it’s been six years since I went to Hope4Cancer? My doctors had told me I had a 50/50 chance to make it for another 12 months. My bladder cancer had spread, and I couldn’t face another surgery. Dr. Tony threw everything he had at me – SonoPhoto Dynamic Therapy, Hyperthermia, lots of IVs and pills and detox to get all the residue from my chemo out of my body. The home program was pretty extensive, but I wanted to live and feel well, and as you can see, it has been worth it. We just welcomed our second granddaughter into our lives, and I got to see my youngest son graduate. I had been so afraid that I would not be around for these major events. I feel the Lord sent us to you, and you in turn led us to Hope4Cancer. We are writing to Dr. Tony too, but wanted to let you know that we will never forget your kindness in our time of need. God Bless, Roger M., Indianapolis, IN |
Jeremy T., Glioblastoma survivorHello, I am enclosing our annual photo of our beloved Jeremy, now 7. Remember, he was only 3, when he was diagnosed a glioblastoma. As you know this is a terrible brain tumor and the standard treatment here in Australia is chemotherapy and radiation. We brought Jeremy to Hope4Cancer Institute, as we had heard about Dr. Jimenez and his great success in treating this type of tumor. Dr. Jimenez was every bit as caring and dedicated as we had heard, and he has a special way with children. The treatments were gentle, and obviously successful! We praise God for all the love and support we found there. Hopefully we will be sending you a new photo of Jeremy for many years to come, just to remind you of our gratitude.
